BOXING ICON DOES A PACQUIAO: MIKE TYSON SINGS IN “THE HANGOVER”

Move over, Manny Pacquiao. You’re not the only boxing champ who has singing aspirations. Infamous boxing legend Mike Tyson gives Pacman a run for his money as the former sings-along to Phil Collins’ 80’s hit song – “In The Air Tonight” – in this music video clip for Warner Bros.’ upcoming comedy, “The Hangover.”

Appearing as himself in the movie, Tyson takes a playful jab at his formidable badass image, performs a little “air drum” number and reminds everyone that, retired or not, he has absolutely, positively still got it.

“The Hangover” tells of a bachelor party gone very, very wrong. Two days before his wedding, Doug (Justin Bartha) drives to Las Vegas with his best buddies Phil and Stu (Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms) and his future brother-in-law Alan (Zach Galifianakis), for a blow-out bachelor party they vow they’ll never forget.

But when the three groomsmen wake up the next morning with pounding headaches, they can’t remember a thing. Their luxury hotel suite is beyond trashed and the groom is nowhere to be found. With no clue about what happened and little time to spare, the trio must attempt to retrace their bad decisions from the night before in order to figure out where things went wrong in the hopes of finding Doug and getting him back to L.A. in time for his wedding.

But the more they begin to uncover, the more they realize just how much trouble they’re really in.

Opening soon across the Philippines, “The Hangover” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

“IP MAN”

IP Man
MEET THE MASTER WHO MADE BRUCE LEE A LEGEND IN “IP MAN”

Martial arts legend Bruce Lee is known for his lightning-fast fists and high-flying kicks. But behind his remarkable talent and skill lies a revered Kung Fu legend – Ip Man. Now, for the first time, the story of this esteemed master has been finally told in the new film IP MAN.

IP MAN is adapted from the life story of Ip Man, the grand master of the Wing Chun style of Kung Fu and sifu (master) of legendary martial arts superstar Bruce Lee. Wing Chun has a history of more than 200 years. It was founded by Yim Wing Chun, took root in the hands of Leung Chun, and prospered with Ip Man. This film is the first important record of the master’s life.
IP Man

The story of Wing Chun began in the 1920s and 30s, in war-torn China. Ip Man was martial art’s unyielding follower, devoted wholeheartedly to the free learning of wushu. The fight to be top between the Wushu schools in the southern and northern regions of China did not stop him from having goodwill matches with other practitioners. However, Ip Man was ultimately forced to use his martial arts skills to defend his country’s honor against the invading Japanese.

IP Man
IP MAN was named Best Picture in the recent Hong Kong Film Awards and also took home the Best Action Choreography award.

“Our creativity team came up with many subjects and one of them caught my attention – instead of spectacular stunts and stylized violence, we decided to go back to the basics and make a film on Chinese wushu,” reveals producer Raymond Wong.

He adds, “Ip Man’s story has never been told on the big screen. Bruce Lee showed the world the incredible strength and uniqueness of Chinese wushu and the legend of Wing Chun master Ip Man, his mentor who nurtured his skills and beliefs in martial arts definitely deserves more recognition. Master Ip Chun (Ip Man’s son) and I came up with a general direction for the film, and the project officially began.”

Wong adds that he came up with an initial concept and then told Director Yip Wai-shun about the ideas. A huge fan of Bruce Lee and deeply interested in the legend of Ip Man, Yip Wai-shun was very excited about the project.
IP Man

“What we wanted to present was his (Ip Man) response to the chaos of war, how he conducted himself in times of war and how he overcame the changing circumstances…it was not about constructing a hero. It was about his influence on martial arts and people,” shares the director.

In order to make the role of Ip Man as convincing as possible, actor Donnie Yen started learning wing chun as soon as he received the script and shed more than 10 pounds to match Ip’s slim figure. To prepare for the trying role, he also read piles of books on Ip Man and Wing Chun. “I practiced with wooden dummies every day in order to demonstrate Wing Chun properly. With a martial arts background, I had no problem picking up Wing Chun. The hardest thing was to put aside everything I’ve learned and clear my mind for pure wing chun practice. This was really challenging but I knew this was a must if I were to portray the essence of Wing Chun,” says Yen.
IP Man
Bruce Lee may be considered the greatest and most influential martial artist of the twentieth century. But he would not have reached this status without the teachings of Ip Man. Now, see how his story comes alive as IP MAN opens on May 13 at your favorite cinemas. IP MAN is a Viva International Pictures release.

“THE ACCIDENTAL HUSBAND”

The Accidental Husband

SPARKS FLY BETWEEN UMA THURMAN AND JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN IN “THE ACCIDENTAL HUSBAND”

Can one love expert know the answers to every romantic dilemma? What if she’s the one having heart problems of her own? In the new romantic comedy THE ACCIDENTAL HUSBAND, Uma Thurman discovers that there are no rules when it comes to matters of the heart.

New York firefighter Patrick Sullivan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan – Watchmen) had no idea his seemingly idyllic life was about to go up in smoke–especially as the unwitting, second-hand recipient of advice from famed love expert and radio host Dr. Emma Lloyd (Uma Thurman—Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill). One day he is a happy, go-lucky guy looking forward to a life with his soon-to-be-bride. The next thing you know, his fiancée Sophia is seeking couples counseling on the radio from Dr. Lloyd. The no-nonsense, ever practical Dr. Lloyd questions Sophia’s concept of romantic love and advises her to break their engagement, which she swiftly does.

The Accidental Husband

But when Patrick and his computer-savvy neighbor decide to give Dr. Lloyd a taste of her own medicine and “accidentally” join them in holy matrimony, something that doesn’t go over too well with her fiancé Michael (Colin Firth – Love Actually, Mamma Mia), it isn’t long before they learn that sometimes even an expert in love needs a second opinion.

Also known for such films as the Kill Bill series, The Producers and Prime, Academy Award® nominee of Pulp Fiction Uma Thurman said she was drawn to the film because of its 30s and 40s romantic comedy style as well as its innovative theme – finding true love literally by accident.

“I loved everything about the script – from the title, to the set up of the plot, to the dialogue,” remembers Thurman. “Everyone has always told me that I come across so serious, so when I read this script, I saw it as the perfect way to express my sense of humor. It was clear from the first read that I could have a lot of fun with Emma.”

“There are only a few guys around who look like they can put out fires and get in street fights and be incredibly charming,” says director Griffin Dunne. “Finding Jeffery Dean Morgan wasn’t an accident, it was a miracle.”

“I felt like the luckiest guy in the world,” says Morgan, the up-and-coming star who starred opposite Hillary Swank in P.S., I Love You and played the role of The Comedian/Edward Blake in the movie version of the bestselling book Watchmen.
The Accidental Husband

“Working with Uma was amazing, and though I was nervous to work with a pro like Colin Firth, once we hung out I found him to be a genuine guy, and very funny. I only hoped I could keep up with him,” he ends.

Full of passion and lots of sparks, THE ACCIDENTAL HUSBAND proves that a wild fiery love will snuff out a dull steady flame in a New York minute. Featuring a red hot supporting cast that includes Sam Shepard (The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford) and Isabella Rossellini (The Architect), this fun romantic comedy is a heartfelt love letter to Manhattan and a tribute to romance everywhere! Catch it on May 20 as it opens at your favorite theaters. A Viva International Pictures release.
