Challenges of Working from Home (Over a year now)

It was on March 15th, 2020 (the day after my birthday) that the government announced the lockdown so we waited on the weekend if how our work will be affected. So, we received an email and text message that all employees will be working from home until further notice. It was my first time to work full week at home since we have scheduled remote days. I'm glad I was able to set up right away - two monitors, Bluetooth keyboard & mouse, headset and computer chair. I have a good Internet connection but it really depends on the season (sometimes it gets windy or there will be a thunderstorm warning and snow storm) so I have the XFINITY app to check if there are outages. Birthday banners all year round  It saved me some time since I take public transportation going to the office and going back home. I have an extra hour to sleep in and I have full energy when the day started. The only challenge I had was not able to move around since I have been stuck on my room all day (grabbing fo

Getting my Covid-19 Vaccine

I haven't been blogging since the pandemic started last year. Not because I ran out of ideas or topics to blog but I don't have the drive to write something. When the lockdown was announced on March 2020, I was working from home until today. I also go out once or twice a week and limiting my activities outside.  Until on March 2021, I was able to get my 1st dose of Covid-19 vaccine. I took some days off on that week to recharge and I was busy browsing online to find a schedule. The schedule from other vaccination facility were too far from my place, so I am patiently refreshing the website just to see if there is availability. I couldn't find any until Monday night (March 29) I thought of logging on to my clinic website and tried if I can score a schedule nearby my house. Then, at last! I've found several open time slots for Tuesday, March 30. I immediately fill out the form and my appointment was confirmed! My appointment was 11am and I left the house at 10:30am since

Why Solar Energy Will Change the World in the Near Future

Did you know that the Earth receives more energy from the sun in one hour than the amount of energy that all of humanity consumes in one year, which is 17.7 terawatts-hour? 1 terawatt-hour is equivalent to 1 trillion watt-hours or 1 billion kilowatt-hours. This means that the potential of solar energy in powering the whole world is very big. In fact, in terms of energy potential, solar energy dwarfs all the other types of energy sources, renewables and fossil fuels alike. The comparison of the total energy potentials for each energy sources is shown below: As we can see, the energy potential of solar is so huge that it is even more than all the other energy sources combined! Because of this, as of the current state of solar PV technology, we would only need to fill 496,805 square kilometers with solar panels to power the whole world. This is a land area that is only almost as big as Spain. The International Energy Agency is also projecting that solar energy will be our primary source

Cash Agad - Partnered by BDO

I learned this new BDO feature upon watching my brother's vlog about Cash Agad. He withdrew his money on a partnered branch thru a sari-sari store. On his video, He mentioned that there's a Php 30 transaction fee and it will be deducted from your atm. He outlined the process on his vlog, first you need enter your pin from the small electronic device and check your balance. Then you need to confirm the amount you're withdrawing. Once the machine confirmed your transaction, the store associate will hand over the cash amount you wanted to encash. It's a very easy transaction especially if you live far away from the ATM machines. To avoid stress and anxiety, I suggest you withdraw during daytime and check the nearest location with you first. I don't know if they have a list of partners on BDO website or if you can check it thru the app (I'm going to confirm). Since we're still living on a pandemic, it is really hard to withdraw cash. Well, I don't carry cash
