HIV - from death sentence to chronic disease

Image
A record 204 new  cases of HIV were reported last month. This is the highest number of cases ever, with approximately seven new cases a day. This is in contrast to one new case every three days in the year 2000. This unpredecented increase in incidence has led to the declaration of an AIDS epidemic last year. The Philippines is one of only seven countries in the world to have seen a significant increase in cases in the last eight years. While most countries in the world are reporting steady or even decreasing case numbers, HIV infections in the Philippines are up more than 80%. While just over 7,000 cases have been reported since 1984, more than half of these were diagnosed only in the last four years. And yet, not all news is bad. While no practical cure exists currently, modern treatment for HIV, termed highly active antiretroviral treatment, or HAART, has been shown to restore life expectancy if it is started early enough. Thus, blogging has become the latest buzz among those in the online marketing scene same goes with Social Networking Sites like Facebook and Twitter. However, as it turns out, many of the larger companies today are actually still pretty much scratching their heads as to what blogging really is. Whether in a band or going out on my own, or whatever I do. Just wanting to push, claw and climb." Surprisingly, Many reacted on the New Facebook Changes

Image
It was the other day when people were confused and discovered the new changes of their Facebook page and hated it for a while. I'm quite suprised when I saw the news feed and the ticker which made me think if my account is still controllable. Until Facebook announced the changes they've made, and said: When you pick up a newspaper after not reading it for a week, the front page quickly clues you into the most interesting stories. In the past, News Feed hasn't worked like that. Updates slide down in chronological order so it's tough to zero in on what matters most. Now, News Feed will act more like your own personal newspaper. You won't have to worry about missing important stuff. All your news will be in a single stream with the most interesting stories featured at the top. If you haven't visited Facebook for a while, the first things you'll see are top photos and statuses posted while you've been away. They're marked with an easy-to-spot blue corner

Bon Chon: My new favorite chicken experience

Image
It was December 2010 last year when I first experience eating at Bon Chon in Ayala Triangle in Makati. We have tried Bon Chon's special chicken recipe: spicy, sweet and soy garlic . Bon Chon is an international franchise whose specialty is Korean chicken wings. Since then, it was also tagged as the best chicken in America quoted from the New York Times, Esquire, GQ Magazine and now finally it invaded Manila. What's the secret recipe? Yes, it was really addicting eating those pieces of chicken wings on our plate and we keep on asking for more. Its natural ingredients and the way it was being prepared; is the most special part of how it is being cooked to produce a healthy-yet-tasty chicken for all ages. Bon Chon is everywhere, yes...you can drop by at the following malls and establishments for a unique chicken experience - Ayala Triangle Gardens, Greenbelt 1, SM Megamall Building A, Libis across Eastwood (near the Spa), Robinson's Galleria, and Greenhills Promenade Recen
