Inspiring stories of good governance and leadership in the Philippines



This is what we needed inspite of news and controversies happening in our country. Good thing that there is a book that we can share to our neighbors and loved ones; a book that values of effective and empowering leadership with integrity. All stories compose of different mission taken from the experiences of each individual who has a political career and shared their leadership lessons. These former and incumbent officials are part of the roster of Champions of Good Governance of the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership, a movement that supports progressive-minded, effective, and ethhical government officials and is dedicated to promoting the practices of each champion to other local government units.

The people featured in the book are the following: Kaya Natin co-founders Jesse Robredo, Grace Padaca, and Ed Panlilio, former Mayor Sonia Lorenzo (San Isidro, Nueva Ecija), Sen Teofisto Guingona III, Rep Teodoro Baguilat JR (Ifugao), Rep Bolet Banal (Quezon City), former councilor Mabel Sunga-Acosta (Davao City), Mayor Roque Versoza Jr (Tagudin, Ilocos Sur) and Board Member Shirlyn Macasarte (Cotabato).

The book highlighted the positive and inspiring stories of political leaders who are doing good for the country, and how this can help bring out empowerment for ordinary Filipinos who also want to make a difference. This can also serve as a leadership book, since the profiles of the feature people include the lessons they've learned as leaders in their own jurisdiction.
