I love Fall-Winter season because it's the time of the year where we get together and even the nights get so cold, we feel very grateful for everything we have and a perfect time to attend some holiday festivities in my area like The Holly Jolly Market and Christmas Tree Lighting in Village of Niles. The annual tree lighting ceremony was held on November 25, 2017 (after black friday sale madness!) at Oasis Fun Center. There were outdoor and indoor activities to choose from: Indoor: had food and beverage for purchase, local vendors selling different variety of goods, mini concert and meeting Mr & Mrs Santa Claus. Outdoor: DIY smores, check out the Niles Free Bus Holly Trolley, riding the trackless train for kids and animals at the petting zoo. You can also purchase hot roasted nuts and popcorn outside. TLC Festival 2017 happened on November 4th. If I'm not mistaken, it was the third year of the said event. I went the first year, skipped the next, and went again this year. Both times I attended, I had only one purpose: meet the Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro. I wasn't successful that first time because I went too early and got so bored, so I left before Buddy Valastro made an appearance. Don't mistake the event as boring though. There were a lot of booths there that offer different workshops as well as stores and kiosks. I managed to snag a spot on the calligraphy workshop but failed to get on the pottery class. After the workshop and going around, I got bored and sleepy (I haven't slept that day yet) so I left and went to my aunt's house that's nearby the Bonifacio High Street where the event took place.
