Fan Accounts: 30 Seconds to Mars in Manila

Image
The two lucky winners of our contest for 30 Seconds to Mars in Manila shared their stories. ====================== Fan Account #1 I woke up on the 29th and the first thing I checked was the weather. Clear skies. Sunshine. Perfect.  And I thought, miracles do happen, it’s gonna be a fine, rain-less day for the concert.  But hell, the sky has something in store for us; we just didn’t it know yet. As we rode our way to the venue, the sky started to darken, and as we queued, it started to drizzle. At 6 pm, we were already inside. Waiting for two hours for the show to start, the rain didn’t let up, good thing we brought umbrellas. At about half past eight, Kjwan warmed the audience up, and as courtesy to the people at the back, we folded our umbrellas. Right then, the rain was pouring hard, and I thought: “Bring it!” Nothing’s gonna keep me from enjoying this moment. After Kjwan performed, for about an hour, we never opened our umbrellas again, and we were drenched, totally. A question floo...

The 30 Seconds To Mars Concert Experience

Image
coverage by: akosiemersonsy.wordpress.com It was a wonderful evening, though it rained so hard before the start of the concert, but this didn't let the fans of 30 Seconds to Mars to falter. So as the band. When we arrived at the concert grounds at Trinoma, the rain started to pour down, and some of the fans were afraid that the concert might get cancelled due to the bad weather. As we looked upon the stage, the concert staffs are busy trying to wipe the water off stage so that the equipments won't be damaged and  the concert can start. After waiting for almost half an hour, the staffs uncovered the equipment, signaling the start of the show.  Kjwan shows up in the stage and get the fans all riled up and screaming. As they start playing, you can see the fans headbanging and singing together with the band. Surely, Kjwan knows how to start the show with a bang. The staff removed the musical equipments and clear the center stage after the  Kjwan performed which made the fans screa...

Fashion Style Influence of Thirty Seconds to Mars

jared leto website Being in the spotlight challenges most celebrities to wear clothes that reflect their personality and show off their individuality. Even if they are in their street clothes, they are always praised and greatly appreciated for what could become the next trend. In addition, famous magazines and online celebrity sites always feature what these individuals wear to gain more readers and visitors. But does Celebrity Fashion really influence what people? To a certain extent I think it does. With reality television as well, advertising is a lot more subtle. Since its "real", people tend not to notice product placement because they're told the environment is absolutely natural. This is what marketers love -faking sincerity. Take a look with Thirty Seconds to Mars ; they are an alternative/emo rock group from Los Angeles. The members are singer/guitarist Jared Leto, his older brother Shannon Leto on drums and Tomo Milicevic on guitar. Their music and style has b...

A Fan Revelation: 30 Secs to Mars

Image
(Note: Written by a friend who discovered himself as a Fan of 30 Seconds to Mars upon listening to their hit songs) How will I define myself as a fan of 30 Seconds to Mars? Is it on the albums I've collected? Is it the posters that I've bought  from the music store? Yes it's on the line of reasons but as for my side, I consider to memorize all of the lyrics of their songs and to feel all of the emotions that includes to each of their songs. I don’t know if there’s a fan there with the same reason as me but definitely that matters to me as a fan.  When I’m at the office, I consider to play it while I'm working coz' it makes my adrenalin more active to do my work that fast. That's how I can define myself as a fan. I've first heard their songs on a local radio here in the Philippines (which is Magic 89.9) and generally speaking, they're one of the great voices on the rock industry (that’s only my opinion). There’s a lot of rock bands on the planet but I gu...

Filipino Fans, are you ready for 30 Seconds to mars?

Image
Perhaps one of the most common questions asked to any band during interviews is who their influences in making music are. And as expected, many will surely name some of the most well known groups as their influences. But while, many of those would attest that those are indeed their influences, a few would really go beyond mentioning names. Thus, when you ask the members of 30 Seconds to Mars , you will probably be thinking that they are just the same with the others. But, as it turns out, you will be pleasantly surprised to know that they are indeed more than just name droppers. According to the band, their influences are actually quite many. However, they are quick to say that, rather than simply copying their favorite styles, they instead developed their own unique style from what they have learned. Thus, as many reviewers have pointed out, while they might sound similar to some of the most recognized groups at first, the unique sound of 30 Seconds to Mars' music slowly emerges t...
