Celebrating Philippine Independence Day

There were a lot of tribute to commemorate our Philippine Independence Day last Sunday, June 12. Among these are the exhibits made by our Philippine Government at Luneta Park wherein they offered job fairs, trade exhibits, free seminars, booths, mini concerts and a lot more.

How about you? Where and what you did last weekend aside from spreading out your greetings all over the net, posting badges on your profile and blogs; eating Pinoy style foods?

The group had the great opportunity right after attending Toycon Presscon last Saturday to visit and take pride of our national landmark, Luneta Park. We were like kids who were excited strolling around the stretch of the Luneta area and took photos of different sceneries we've found.

Afterwards, we took a walk with the heritage. I didn't finish the entire walk because it was too dark and tired from walking. I captured some of the best shots taken and posted on the walls featuring famous historical landmarks.

On the Philippine Independence Day itself, Eastwood City Celebrates Philippine Love on Independence Day. A Filipino tradition cannot be complete if the love affair with food is forgotten. That’s why Chef Rommel Paredes and Chef Ojie Reloj of CCA will share their take on a couple of delicious local dishes in the Independence Day Cooking Demo. Twisting Filipino dishes into new meals :)

Cap the night with a photograph by the newly painted L-O-V-E Eastwood sign.
There’s no mistaking the colors of the Philippine flag.

Rekindle traditional Filipino romance with the good’ol harana. Philippine Opera Company’s Harana are coming to serenade you with folk songs and kundiman, a genre of traditional Filipino love songs. This group of classical singers will surely make one fall in love with the Philippines all over again as their voices fill Eastwood Mall Open Park on Independence Day at 7pm.
