Gear Up for Toycon 2011

In 2002, a group of friends decided to put up an exhibit to showcase their beloved collection of toys to the public. Dubbed the Phil. Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention, or simply the Toy Con, the event has since become one of the most anticipated events for both kids and kids at heart.

And to celebrate a decade’s worth of giving joy to the many toy lovers out there, the guys behind Toy Con have decided to thrown in a bash for its tenth year anniversary. In a press conference held last July 10, the organizers unveiled their grand plans for the event.

Of course, the center of the event would still be the various toys and merchandise that would be on display. And with the event now covering all of SM Megamall’s three Megatrade Halls, folks will definitely have a lot to explore.

And for the movie buffs, Toy Con 2011 will also feature merchandise from some of the biggest blockbusters this summer, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 and Transformers Dark of the moon.


And of course, the cosplay competition is also another awaited event here. But this year, Toy Con itself will be the location for the filming of the Chinese movie Cosplay Nation, one of the first major Asian films to go into the cosplay world.


There are still a lot more to see at the event, so see you at Toy Con 2011 on June 18 and 19, at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 1, 2, and 3.
