Holy Tuesday

I attended the sacred prayer held at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Chapel in Libis, Quezon City followed by anointing of holy oil & veneration of the St Pio's relics.

Anointing with Oil, in common Biblical practice means to make Sacred, to consecrate or to set apart and dedicate it for use unto our Creator.During anointing, the person customarily knelt while oil was poured or rubbed on the head or forehead. For extra special anointing, this Rite can be incorporated with the “laying on of hands” beginning with a kiss or hug (1Sam.10:1), and then ending in a prayer.

Sanctify
1. To set apart for sacred use; consecrate.
2. To make holy; purify.
3. To give religious sanction to, as with an oath or vow: sanctify a marriage.
4. To make productive of holiness or spiritual blessing.

Consecration
The devoting or setting apart of anything to the worship or service of God.
