Ipanema presents Raoul Ramirez’s Resort Wear 2012 Collection

Manila, Philippines – Ipanema teams up with Filipino designer Raoul Ramirez, as he unveils his 2012 Resort Wear Collection in Philippine Fashion Week.

Ipanema lends its aesthetic and unparalleled quality in flip-flops to complement Raoul’s strikingly bold, yet feminine designs. “I drew inspiration from the design and the colors of the Ipanema Collection. That’s why I used both silk and spandex, and I showed just the right amount of skin to emphasize femininity,” says Ramirez.

“I also played with texture. There are pieces where I mixed and matched different fabrics to achieve my vision.” With modern structured pieces that combine soft silhouettes with tailored lines, Raoul chose to dress his models with the Ritmos Collection and the New Trance Fem Collection from Ipanema. He sees the contemporary sophisticated woman, who's independent and sure of herself, wearing his clothes. Without fail, Raoul’s collection yet again makes a strong statement of creativity and style.

The casual yet elegant Ipanema collection exudes self-confidence and fearlessness without taking away femininity and poise; just as Raoul’s collection combine movement and subdued colors with whimsical fabrics and dresses. The talented designer states that he finds so much inspiration from the Ipanema collection, especially in color and its overall aesthetic.

As one of the country’s top flip-flop brands and fashion staple, Ipanema stands for everything light, sensual, and tropical. Flip-flops have gone from being the default footwear for a lazy day to a valuable accessory and fashion must have.
